MARLET WINES IS SYNOMUS WITH GREAT WINE. I STARTED THIS BUSINES OVER OVER 15 YRS AGO. I STARTED OUT WORKING WITH ONE WINERY IN LA RIOJA REGION AND HELPED TO PLACE THEIR WINE IN CHINA. THIS WAS ABOUT 15 YRS AGO.
DUE TO MY OTHER MARKET EXPERIENCE IN THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY, I HAD CONTACTS IN CHINA AND WAS ABLE TO START ROOTING AROUND IN THE WINE INDUSTRY IN ASIA TO SEE WHAT POSSIBILITIES THERE WERE. I FINALLY PLACED THE WINE AND STARTED RECEIVING REQUESTS FOR OTHER TYPES OF WINES FROM OTHER REGIONS. SLOWLY, BUT SURELY, I HAD A CLIENT BASE AND A FEW SUPPLIERS. SINCE THEN I HAVE GROWN SUBSTANTIALLY AND NOW CAN OFFER MOST WINE REGIONS IN SPAIN AND I WORK WITH REPUTABLE WINERIES WITH WELL PRIZED WINES WHICH STAND OUT ABOVE THE REST DUE TO THEIR PHILOSOPHY OF SUSTAINABILITY, BE IT ORGANIC OR JUST ETHICAL PRACTICES.
I FELT THAT THE WINE INDUSTRY WAS SOMETHING I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE INVOLVED IN, DUE TO MY BACK GROUND. I ENJOY THE SALES CHALLENGES THAT COME WITH THIS MARKET AND I HAVE GAINED EXPERIENCE IN SALES, ADMIN, STOCK CONTROL, AND MANY OTHER SKILLS WHILST WORKING FOR MY FAMILY BUSINESS IN THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY.
I HAVE MORE THAN 20 YRS SALES EXPERIENCE AND ALONG SIDE MY LOVE OF WINE IT HAS HELPED ME TO FIND
MY PLACE IN THIS MARKET.
I DECIDED TO WORK HAND IN HAND WITH THE WINERY RATHER THAN JUST FOR MYSELF. I FEEL THAT I AM AN EXTERNAL EXPORT MANAGER FOR THE WINERY RATHER THAN AN AGENT OR A BROKER. IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE BUSINESS - FIRST CONTACT, SAMPLES, FIRST SALE AND THEN POST SALES SERVICE I PREFER TO KEEP THE LINES OF COMMUNICATION FIRMLY OPEN BETWEEN MYSELF, THE WINERY AND THE CLIENT SO THAT THE CLIENT CAN FEEL AT EASE AND CERTAIN OF WHAT THEY ARE BUYING.
